Performing Umrah for the first time can feel overwhelming, but understanding the steps in advance helps you focus on the spiritual experience rather than the logistics.
Before entering the state of Ihram, perform ghusl (ritual bath) and wear the prescribed Ihram clothing. Make the intention (niyyah) for Umrah and recite the Talbiyah.
Upon reaching the Haram, perform Tawaf — seven counter-clockwise circuits around the Kaaba — followed by Sa'i, walking seven times between the hills of Safa and Marwah. Conclude by trimming or shaving your hair, which marks the completion of Umrah.
